Robert W. Smith, Jr.

Robert W. Smith, Jr., 79, died January 24, 2024, in Washington Hospital, with his family by his side. Mr. Smith was born June 1, 1944, to Robert and Theresa Smith. He attended Chartiers High School in Houston Pennsylvania. He joined the US Air Force in 1963 and graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics in February 1969. Upon graduation, he was employed by Boeing Company, where he was an airplane mechanic in Everett, Washington. Upon returning home, he married Donna Sapp and worked for McGraw-Edison, then Allegheny Engineering and retired from Pennsylvania Transformer. He had a passion for cars and home remodeling, and loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. He also enjoyed his coffee, listening to oldies, and watching the Steelers. Surviving is his wife of fifty years, Donna, his daughter Lindsey Smith, and his sister Kristine Epright. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Kevin, and Keith Smith. Family and friends will be received Sunday, January 28, 2024, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA, with a Blessing Service Monday, January 29th at 1pm with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery.
