Robert J. Schriskey

Robert J. “Stubby” Schriskey, 73, of Washington, died Friday, April 5, 2024, in the Emergency Department of The Washington Hospital. He was born September 21, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late George Schriskey and Frances Samida Schriskey. Mr. Schriskey graduated from Washington High School, earned an associate degree at Washington Institute of Technology, and worked as a carpenter. During the Vietnam War, he served in the Navy on the USS Tutuila as an optical man, earning a Meritorious Unit Commendation and National Defense Service Medal. The old Jeep Willy he was restoring was his pride and joy. He loved the outdoors and waterfalls and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Stubby was also a big Prexies football fan. But, more than anything, he loved his faithful companions, his dogs, Buddy and Daisy, who were most important to him. Mr. Schriskey was a member of St. Hilary Church of St. James Parish, the American Legion, and the Pulaski Club. Surviving are a brother, Richard A. Schriskey; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Maloy (Jennifer), Kristy Maloy (Rick), Sammy Maloy, Kerry Schriskey Stewart (Brian), and Richard Schriskey, Jr.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; several cousins; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Schriskey. Deceased are siblings, Carol Ann Maloy and Kenneth Schriskey. All services and burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Washington Area Humane Society, PO Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330. Arrangements have been entrusted to William G.
