Robert L. “Bob” Ricker, 68, of Prosperity, died on Friday, August 2, 2019, in his home, following a lengthy battle with Mesothelioma. He was born on January 23, 1951, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late August and Clara Bott Ricker. A 1968 graduate of Trinity High School, he was a member of Upper Ten Mile Church. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Ricker served in the Vietnam War, from February 19, 1969, until his Honorable Discharge on February 5, 1973. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Award. Bob was the owner and operator of Ricker Garage. A member of the Claysville American Legion and the Arm’s Club, Bob enjoyed shooting pool, racing mud trucks, kayaking and canoeing. On January 15, 1972, he married Cathy S. McClay, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Addie (Brian) Bertram, of West Virginia, Kerri Ricker, of Claysville, and Darla Ann Ricker, of Washington; a brother, Richard (Carla) Ricker, of Florida; a sister, Clara (Chuck) Kleinhans, of Prosperity; and six grandchildren, Peyton, Bristol, Jeb, Darrian, Taylor and Aiden. Deceased are seven siblings, Jack Ricker, Dorothy Ankrom, Fred Ricker, Jim Ricker, Pete Ricker, Helen Whiteman, and Mary Lou Moore. Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA., where services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Gary Whipkey officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 600 River Ave Suite 900, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
