Rita Marie Palmer Meeks, 86, of Washington, died February 7, 2021, peacefully at her home. She was born on May 14, 1934, in Loddon, England, the daughter of the late Edward Arthur and Hilda Maude Young Palmer. She came to live in America on March 11, 1954. On March 20, 1954, Rita married Bill Meeks, who survives. Rita loved going out to dinner and traveling, dart ball, bingo and playing the lottery. She also enjoyed feeding the birds, watching Westerns and Hallmark channels. She was a member of the Post 927 of VFW. And she played dartball for the Women's Dartball League for over 25 years. She also enjoyed serving dinners at the Lone Pine Christian Church. Surviving in addition to her husband of 66 years, are 2 sons, Billy (Jackie) Meeks Jr., and Gerald Palmer; 4 daughters, Sandy Wise, Susan (Dean) Jungo, Lisa (Paul) Woods, and Julie (John) St. Vincent; 3 brothers, Dennis, Tony, and Terry; 3 sisters, Edna, Delia, and Carmel; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Rita was predeceased by a son, Chris John Meeks; a sister, Evie; a son-in-law, David R. Wise; and great- great-granddaughter, Serenity. Rita loved her family very much. She had a beautiful soul and treated everyone like family. No one was a stranger to her. She will be missed by many. Due to Covid-19, all services are private.
