Richard Ernest Lacock

Richard Ernest Lacock, 71, of Washington, died Friday, December 4, 2020 in the Washington Hospital. He was born July 18, 1949 in Washington, the son of Earl and Betty Jane McBride Lacock. On August 22, 1970 he married Barbara Beckenger. Richard graduated from Trinity High School and proudly served his country in the National Guard with 6 years of service. He worked many years for Washington Steel until their closure and retired from Jefferson Auto. He coached and managed Washington Youth baseball for many years. He loved motorcycles and rode with a group of friends that called themselves the “Hamhocks.” He enjoyed cars and trucks and owned well over 200 of them in his lifetime. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and loved attending all of their sporting events. Richard was Presbyterian by faith. Surviving are his loving wife Barbara; son Brian (Renea) Lacock of Washington; a sister Stevie (Tom) Rizor of Washington; grandchildren, Luke and Leah; nieces Gretchen Stein and Meghan Miller; nephew, Matthew Rizor; several great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law, Marilyn Beckenger; and sister-in-law, Karen Ramsey. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Brownson House in Richard’s memory. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services will be held privately at the William G.
