Richard L. “Dick” Gorby, 82, of Washington, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2017, with his loving wife by his side.He was born February 21, 1935, in Washington, the son of the late Rena Martin. Mr. Gorby attended Trinity High School and was a veteran of the National Guard. He worked as an electrician at Jessop Steel Company for 37 years. Mr. Gorby enjoyed golfing and spending time with family. He was a member of the Jessop Employee Club and a former member of the Alpine Club. He was Baptist by faith. Mr. Gorby could fix everything, and was known as “Mr. Fix It”. He was an avid Pirate and Steeler fan. On January 19, 1953, he married Peggy Rush, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Donald) Jacobs of Washington and Kym (Nicholas) Pizza of Deltona, FL; four grandchildren, Brittany (Richard) Lunceford, Nikya Pizza, Kiersten (Joseph) Zapata, Jennifer (Stephen) Breen; two great grandchildren, Kaliana Pizza and Aria Zapata. Deceased are two sons, Richard Eric Gorby and Gregory Scott Gorby; and a great grandson, Fynn Breen. At the request of the deceased, a private memorial service was held, with Joyce L. Hannen officiating.
