Richard J. Gaudi Sr., passed away peacefully in his home the morning of March 27th 2025.
Richard was born on July 9, 1941, in Jarvis, New York, a son of the late Charles and Edith Gaudi.
He was a college football player and graduate of Salem College in West Virginia.
Richard began his career as a high school biology teacher, where he also served as a coach of multiple sports in Richmond, Virginia. Richard later moved to Washington, Pennsylvania, and he then became a salesman at Bob Evans Farms, where he later retired from there 35 years later.
He was an active member at the Washington Barbell Club until 2022, when his health began to decline. Richard also competed in arm wrestling competitions, where his accomplishments included “Strongest Arm in the East.”
Richard was an avid golfer and competed in many club championships at Washington Country Club. Another love of his was his Harley motorcycle. He and his wife enjoyed many riding excursions, which included multiple destinations to Sturgis. Richard enjoyed sharing his musical talent of organ playing with his beloved family and friends.
The love of his life, Mary A. Gaudi, and himself built a beautiful family that always brought him the most joy. The love of his grandchildren extended through watching their sporting events and various passions.
Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Edith Gaudi, and a brother, Ronald Gaudi.
Surviving family include his brother, Kenneth Gaudi (Peggy); his sister, Judy Andersen; his son, Richard Gaudi Jr. (Dawn); his daughters, Dana Bruno (Jon) and Georgia Gaudi; five grandchildren, Anthony Bruno (Vivian), Nico Bruno (Katie), Tristan Clutter, Christian Clutter, Noah Clutter; his great-grandson, Jeremy Bruno; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 5 p.m., the hour of service, on Monday, March 31st, 2025, in William G. Neil Funeral Home, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Steve Ramey officiating.
