Ray LeMoyne Jennings, 79 of Washington PA, passed away Saturday evening May 22, 2021. Ray was born August 10, 1941 in Brownsville PA to Ionia Bettegar Jennings and Joseph Jennings. He was a 1959 graduate of Brownsville High School and a 1963 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. Upon his graduation Ray began teaching at Avella High School and worked during the summers in the Odds Room of the Meadows Racetrack during its inaugural years. After several years of teaching Ray was hired by Plasteel Products in Washington PA where he was promoted to assist in the creation of a new fabrication and production line. It was during this tenure that he was instrumental in the design and development of a metal panel roll-forming process dubbed the “Jennings Line”. In 1966, Ray was selected by the owner of Metal Deck Corporation in East Brunswick, New Jersey to manage the production facility. In 1969 Ray left Metal Deck and with his partner Dave Kowcheck Sr. founded the industrial construction firm, Viking Erectors Corporation. Ray and Dave subsequently formed J&K Erection Company, Mohawk Construction and Supply Company Inc., and Delrose Construction Company Inc. All four of which are still thriving industrial and commercial entities in the nationwide construction sectors. Ray had a lifelong love of the outdoors. He was an avid and accomplished hunter, fisherman, and traveler. He actively pursued these interests with his wife, family, and friends. He also served on the Sporting Clays Committee for United Cerebral Palsy-Pathways in Washington, PA. Ray was also a member of Saint Hillary Church where he enjoyed singing hymns and attending mass with his wife. Prior to attending California University, Ray worked on his uncle’s farm in Bentleyville, PA. It was during this time, while working his egg delivery route, that he met and fell in love with Dolores Lubozynski of Cokeburg. Ray and Dolores were married in 1965 and enjoyed 56 years of wedded bliss being constant companions during multiple adventures and travels. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Dolores and their four children: daughter Kelli, son Brian (Carolyn), son Eric, and daughter Erin (Robert Thompson).
