Ralph W. Horne

Ralph W. Horne, 85, of Washington, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 16, 1937, in Scenery Hill, the son of the late Willis and Martha Shouse Horne. Ralph was a 1955 graduate of Trinity High School and served six years in the United States Air Force until being honorably discharged. He had several careers throughout his lifetime including running his own refrigeration company, maintenance supervisor for Consolidated Coal and Teamster driver for Mosites Construction. Upon retirement, he became a general handyman where he could work at his own pace. On June 20, 1964, he married B. Grace Pattison, his wife of 59 years, who survives. Also surviving is his son, Eric (Wendy) Horne, of Washington; his daughter, Brenda Horne, of Romance, WV; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Linda Hartley, brother-in-law, Dan (Mary) Pattison, and a sister, Grace Mitchell. Deceased is brother in-law William “Bill” Hartley. Friends will be received from 4-7 pm, on Friday March 17, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a service at 7 pm.
