Phyllis A. Brooks, 84, of Washington, died October 12, 2021, in Premier Washington Health Center. She was born November 20, 1936, in Washington, the daughter of the late William M. and Mona Mahanna Klinzing. Phyllis graduated from Washington High School in 1954 where she was a cheerleader. She was retired from Moose Lodge #22, where she was an executive secretary. She was an active member of Friendship Community Church. She volunteered at Canton Township Fire Department, on Weirich Avenue, with the Women’s Auxillary and at her church. She loved to decorate, especially for holidays, had a fantastic sense of humor, loved her flowers, and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. On October 21, 1955, Phyllis married Charles Albert Brooks, who died in August of 1997. Surviving to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews, Cindy (the late Tom) Santelli, of Prosperity, Joy Daviduk, of Washington, Rick (Bonnie) Barlow, of Washington, Carolyn Crews, Elizabeth Klinzing, and Kathy Klinzing, all of North Carolina; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding Phyllis in death was her sister and brother, Shirley Jean Barlow, and William Klinzing. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations made to Lewy Body Dementia Foundation, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, the time of service in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating.
