Pauline "Polly" Marie Williams

Pauline “Polly” Williams, 73, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed on peacefully, as she wanted to, in her home, on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was born November 23,1949 in Washington, PA, daughter of the late Paul and Nannie Smith Wilson. Polly is predeceased by her first husband, the late Donald Chess, who died in 2000, and her second husband, the late Martin Williams who died in 2018; they had married on February 14, 1985. After graduating from high school, she worked as a packer at Brockway Glass. Polly did a lot of cooking and catering events (usually with her mother, Nannie Bell) at the American Legion Post #175 in Washington. She dearly loved to cook, bake and throw parties for her family and friends. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #175 in Washington, where she had been president for four years and first vice-president for several years. Surviving are a son, Don Chess; a daughter, Dana Chess McCord; siblings Paul Wilson “Sonny” (friend Marge Marasco), Kathleen "Kathy" (Gaylord "Shorty") Toland and Karen (Steve) McDonnell; grandchild Morgan McCord; great-grandchild Remington McMasters; and niece Brook Wilson and her daughter, Paisley.
