Paul Joseph Knizner, 82, of Marianna, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born January 24, 1942, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Stopka Knizner. Mr. Knizner was a graduate of Trinity High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Knizner worked in the coal mining industry for 38 years at several locations, most recently as a maintenance foreman for Consol Energy. He was Roman Catholic by faith. Mr. Knizner enjoyed hunting, shooting, farming, and being on his tractor. He loved spending time outdoors, and especially being with his grandkids. He was an endowment member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving are two sons, Paul (Kelley) and Vince (Sharon) Knizner; a daughter, Lynette (James, Jr.) Porter; two brothers, Steven and James (Carol) Knizner; a sister, Patty (Nick) Galizia; six grandchildren, Paul, Kayley, Vincent Jr., Daniel, Stephanie, Amber and J.T.; and two great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m., the hour of service, Saturday, November 23, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
