Patty Jean Deems, 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, after a lengthy illness, in Presbyterian SeniorCare Network, Southmont, Washington. She was born May 25, 1937, in Tarentum, the daughter of the late Frank Kurek and Mildred Fulton Kurek. Patty spent her entire life in the Scenery Hill and Washington areas. Patty attended Fairbanks Grammar School. She graduated from Trinity High School in 1955, where she was a member of the school band. She also graduated from Mason Felix Beauty School and worked at different beauty shops in the Washington area before opening her beauty shop in her home. She was a member of the West Washington United Methodist Church. Patty was a homemaker, who enjoyed helping and cooking for her family and friends. On November 19, 1960, she married Harold Eugene Deems, who passed away on October 23, 2012. Surviving are a daughter, Christy (Brian) Crile; two sons, Skyler (Brenda) Deems and Darren (Laura) Deems; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arrangements are private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. She will be buried in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with her spouse. A sincere thank you and appreciation to all of the caregivers at Southmont for the excellent care, compassion, and love they have shown Patty during her four-year stay there.
