Patricia Jean (Patty) Denman, of Washington, passed away May 21, 2022. She was born November 13, 1936, the daughter of Stanley and Nellie Parkinson. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was a 1955 graduate of Trinity High School. On August 27, 1955, she wed Leonard Denman, who passed away April 5, 1985. Patty was spirited, gutsy, and strong willed; all excellent qualities in mother of four strapping boys. Proudly patriotic and a Democratic Committee Woman, Patty, in her younger days, volunteered for the local board of elections and remained interested in current affairs well into her later years. Prior to her late husband’s illness and early death, she and Leonard delighted in hosting family and friends for cookouts and gatherings, where children playing and adults talking and laughing could be heard well after sunset. Patty enjoyed gardening, shopping, and for many years, enjoyed the company of her chihuahua, Gizmo. Patty is survived by her beloved four sons: Ross (Cindy), Doug (Sherri), Randy (Janet), and Jeff. She doted on her eleven grandchildren, “the girls,” Lorraine, Amanda Jean, Jennifer, Jessica, Samantha, and Michelle: Randy Jr., Courtney, Alicia, Adam, and Tyler. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren. She was a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a daughter-in-law, and a friend. Patty will be remembered for her generosity, her feisty spirit, her loyalty to her family, and that twinkle in her eye when she smiled. She will be forever loved and dearly missed. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 5 until 8 pm, and Wednesday, May 25th, from 11am until 1 pm, the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Interment to follow in the Washington Cemetery.
