Olan Ray Keener, Jr., 90, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in South Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Canonsburg. He was born December 5, 1926, in Taylortown, Greene County, a son of Olan Ray Keener, Sr., and Sylvia Stewart Keener. Mr. Keener served in the Coast Guard from May 1949, until September 1952, and the Coast Guard Reserves from September 1952, until September 1955. He worked as a Sheet Metal Worker for Manrow & Grable. Mr. Keener was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, the Elks, the Arms Club, and the Independence Club. Formerly, he was a member of Washington Lodge 164 and Coudersport Consistory. On May 21, 1950, he married Marie Harn, who survives. Also surviving are a son, George A. (Suntok) Keener of Virginia; two daughters, Donna Marie (Tim) Grimes of Bentleyville and Linda Pearl (Robert) Hodgens of McComb Township, Michigan; four grandchildren, Melissa (David) Phelps, Kimberly Keener, Kaile Hodgens and Lindsey Hodgens. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday and from 10 till 11 a.m., the time of service, on Saturday, July 15th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
