Norbert Sienkiel, 92, of Washington, died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Premier Health Center. He was born June 11, 1925 in Washington, the son of the late Albert Sienkiel and Josephine Florek Sienkiel. Norbert attended Trinity High School and worked at Washington Steel for 26 years. He also was a self-employed sign painter. Norbert was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in WWII. He was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175 and a lifetime member of the Polish Club. Norbert enjoyed sports, playing cards, spending time at the Meadows Casino and taking trips with his wife to Atlantic City. On May 23, 1948, he married Amelia S. “Molly” Magdon, who died September 24, 2009. Surviving are a son, David N. (Linda) Sienkiel of Washington; a daughter Laurie A. (Brent) Adler of Washington; five grandchildren, Crystal Sienkiel, Ginger Sienkiel, Steffie Adler, Stanley Adler and Stacey Adler all of Washington; four great grandchildren, Cali Sienkiel, Kelsey Adler, Keion Adler and Kendrick Adler. Deceased are two brothers, Joseph Sienkiel and Edward Sienkiel. Friends will be received Monday, March 26, 2018, from 1 to 3 p.m. the time of a Blessing service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Burial is private at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
