Nora M. Ropele

Nora M. Ropele (Craggs) passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, in her loving granddaughter’s home, surrounded by her family in Washington, PA, under the care of Amedisys Hospice. Nora was born on August 19, 1940, in Brownsville, PA to the late Charles “Chuck” Sr. and Nell Staley Craggs. She graduated from Bethlehem Joint High School in 1958. She graduated from Penn Commercial in 1990 and worked at Progressive Mobility where she enjoyed working with the owners, co-workers, and customers. Nora cherished spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time at Washington Park and Oglebay Park. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, taking pictures, looking at the sky, and was in awe of pretty sunsets and interpreting the shapes of clouds. Nora was cherished by her family and leaves behind her two daughters, Anita R. Ropele (Fred Collier) of Washington and Jodi L. Crisman (Jeff) of Fairborn, Ohio; two grandchildren, Maria Nolan (Jared) of Washington and Chase Ropele of Leadville, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren, Lydia Abbas, James Bell, Jaxson, Asher, and Josephine Nolan; her sisters Ruth, Lil, Ginger, Charlene; sister-in-law, Carole; several nieces and nephews; and her friends. Deceased are two daughters, Angela and Ronah Ropele; a son, Randal Ropele; brother, Charles E. “Mike” Craggs; and husband, Aldo Ropele. A celebration of life will be held in Oglebay Park with family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Amedisys Foundation.
