Nicholas "Nort" Yurkovich, Jr., 71, of Prosperity, died on February 6, 2022, in Washington Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Nicholas Yurkovich, Sr. and Bertha Tender Yurkovich. A graduate of McGuffey High School, Mr. Yurkovich worked for ICI Construction. A man who loved the outdoors, Nort enjoyed working on tractors and attending tractor pulls. He especially loved his time spent with friends and family. Surviving are four sons, Eli Yurkovich, of Prosperity, Shawn (Lori) Hancher, of McMurray, Stacy (LouAnn) Hancher, of Jacksonville, FL, and Shad (Marsha) Hancher, of Orlando, FL; two brothers, Rudy (Phyllis) Yurkovich, of Prosperity, and Marko Yurkovich, of South Franklin; three sisters, Darlene (Edward) Sheperd, of South Franklin, Cecelia (Butch) Green, of South Franklin, and Nicolette (Brett) Shriver, of Washington; many grandchildren; and his wife, Nancy Kumer Yurkovich. Deceased is a sister, Joyce Clemons. At the request of the deceased, all services were private and held at the convenience of the family.
