Michael Robert Salansky

Michael Robert Salansky Sr., 80, of Washington, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born April 1, 1944, in Washington, a son of the late Michael Salansky and Betty Jane McCartney Salansky. Michael was a graduate of Washington High School and retired from Ferro. He was Christian by faith. Michael was a member of the American Legion Post 175 and Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed watching sports, playing bingo, maintaining his lawn and cutting grass. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed taking road trips. On February 16, 1964, he married Nellie Evelyn McKean Salansky, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Gary Salansky, Michael R. (Heather) Jr. Salansky, Sherri (Roy Anderson) Sasfai and Kristy (Daniel) Hartzog; grandchildren Ashley Salansky, Michael (Andrea) Salansky, Corey (Morgan) Salansky, Kodi Hartzog, Kristina (Raymond) Poirier and Andrew Sasfai; and great-grandchildren Tenley Salansky, Landon Salansky, Kolby Salansky, Khloee Salansky, Korlynn Salansky, Kimber Salansky, Kerrianne Salansky, Kyber Salansky, Brayden Hubley, Jayde Hughes, Harper Poirier and Hunter Poirier. Deceased are two brothers, Billy Lee Salansky and Ricky Dale Salansky, and a grandson, Derek Hartzog. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Tim Lindsay officiating.
