Michael Joseph Desiderio, Jr., 87, of Washington, died Thursday, April 28, 2022, in PAM Health, Oakdale, following a brief illness. He was born July 28, 1934, a son of the late Mose Desiderio and Jennie Cononico Desiderio. Mr. Desiderio graduated from Washington High School and the International Culinary Academy. He worked as an engineer and draftsman at Cooper Industries. Following the plant’s closing, he became a cook, working at Country Meadows in Bridgeville, then at Presbyterian Senior Care, from where he retired. Mr. Desiderio bowled on leagues at Alpine Bowling Alley and Route 19 Bowling Alley. He also enjoyed golfing. He was Catholic by faith. On December 20, 1975, he married Beverly Ackley, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Joseph Desiderio III of Washington; two daughters, Debbie Weaver and her husband William of Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Donna Desiderio of Washington; a grandson, Jeremy Weaver and his wife, Maggie; and three great-grandchildren, Blake, Bailey, and Coleson. Deceased is a brother, Falco Desiderio. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 4th. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
