Michael Lynn Cain

Michael Lynn Cain, 75, of Washington, died Thursday, April 13, 2023, in Donnell House, Washington. He was born February 6, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late John Paul Cain and Lois Grace Weaver Cain. Mr. Cain was a graduate of Washington High School. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the Air Force for four years, where he earned a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Mr. Cain was honorably discharged on April 10, 1972, with a rank of Sergeant. He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as an operator for 20 years, and prior to that, he worked at Brockway for 12 years. Mr. Cain attended West Washington United Methodist Church, and was a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, The Arms Club, and the Keystone Club. He enjoyed going to the casino, spending time with friends and family, and especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. On September 7, 1968, he married Connie Sue Lenhart, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Christopher (Lori) Cain, Matthew Cain, and Stephen Cain, all of Washington; a daughter, Michelle (Don) Nutter of Washington; a brother, Brent (Judy) Cain of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Austin, Zach, Mattie, Talon, and Drew Cain, Erik Miller, C.J., Jordon, Carson, Colby, and Avery Nutter; 2 great-grandchildren, Dawson Nutter and Hudson Scears; many nieces and nephews; and his life-long best friend and brother-in-law, Larry Lenhart. Deceased is a brother, Richard Cain. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 18th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 19th, with Rev. James Kimmel officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Washington United Methodist Church, 625 Fayette Street, Washington, PA 15301.
