Melinda “Suzy” Marshall, 63, of Washington, died on January 10, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born on April 21, 1959, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late Evelyn “Evalina” Hoffman. Suzy was a faithful and devoted member of the Washington Congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mrs. Marshall retired after twenty years, from Washington Hospital, where she worked as a dietary aide. A family-oriented person, she loved her family and friends, and especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed being on social media and spending time with her friends at Kingdom Hall. On March 1, 1981, she married the love of her life, Linnell R. Marshall, who survives. They had celebrated forty-one years of marriage. Also surviving are four children, Emery Q. (Madeline) Smith, of Allentown, Linnell R. “Little Linnell” Marshall, Jr., of Kingston, NY, Bradford S. (Stacey) Marshall, of Washington, and Tonya L. Marshall, of Washington; a brother, Fred Hoffman; four sisters, Tammy (Vaughn) Yates, Jackie (Greg) Cleveland, Constance Troutman, and Darlene “Sister” Smith; nine grandchildren, Kianna, Camron, Jaden, Jaela, Maisha, Braelyn, DeShawn, Zakhi, and DeSean; a great grandchild, Kayden; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Deceased are a granddaughter, Shaeylynn Marshall; a brother, William “June Bug” Powell; and a nephew, Travis Smith, of Johnstown. At the request of the deceased, all services were private and held at the convenience of the family.
