Maymie Arlene Burns, 82, of Washington, died on Saturday, May 12, 2018, in the Donnell House, following a five-month illness. She was born on December 25, 1935, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sara Black Garrison. A 1953 graduate of Canonsburg High School, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Burns enjoyed artistic painting, bowling, cooking and reading mystery novels. She especially loved visiting her granddaughter in Ohio. On May 9, 1959, she married David L. Burns, who died on January 29, 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Becky (Keith) Loughman, of Washington; a sister, Doris Murray, of Washington; a granddaughter, Raelyn (Matthew) Okerwall; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was expecting her first great grandchild in September. Deceased are five brothers, Harry, Robert, Charles, Edgar and Sonny Garrison, and two sisters, Sara Gardner and Patricia Macioszek. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 6 until 8 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, with Rev. Rob Berk officiating.
