Mary Emily Oliverio, 91, of Washington, died Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Washington Hospital due to complications of covid. She was born April 20, 1931, in Washington, the daughter of the late John and Mary Kalina. Mary attended Trinity High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church – St. James Parish. She retired from the Observer Reporter after 30 years as an inserter, prior to that she worked for Hazel Atlas. On August 27, 1960, Mary married Frank Oliverio, who died January 29, 1998. Mary enjoyed cooking, bingo, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She is survived by four sons, William (Susan) Oliverio, James Oliverio, David Oliverio, and Daniel Oliverio; grandchildren, Audrey, Andrew, and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Liliana, and Annalyn; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lee Oliverio; brothers, John Malik, and Tom Malik; and a sister, Margaret Slesh. Mary was the last of her immediate family. Family and friends will be received Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial service will be private.
