Mary Mcnary

Mary Hurzon McNary, 91, of Washington went home peacefully, to join her husband, Glenn E. McNary on March 10, 2024. She was born May 28, 1932, in Avella, a daughter of Frank and Meri Panchura Hurzon. A graduate of Trinity High School, Mary was May Queen in 1950 and she was a member of the Golden Link class, which was a church group in the Mt. Prospect Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing cards, the lottery, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed visits to the casino. She was a member of Pigeon Creek Church and a 50-year member of Eastern Star as well as a sassy Red Hat Lady. Glenn and Mary married February 6, 1952, and celebrated 68 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. Surviving are her three children: Mark (Dian), Glenda (Clayton) and Deborah Fitch. Also, her grandchildren, Brad (Amanda) McNary of Pittsburgh, Scott McNary of Washington, Garrett Herdman (Judith) of San Angelo, Texas, Tyler (Mia) Klempay, Cody (Madison) Klempay of Canonsburg, and Dalton and Marshall Fitch of Washington; her great-grandchildren included, Easton and Ava Burt, Eleanor and Raylan Herdman, and Mya, Marcus, and Mason Klempay. Deceased siblings include, Ann Kolycheck, Michael Hurzon, Helen Lutes, Judy Wagner, Margaret Keller, and Sophia Lilley. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 14, with the service being held on Friday, March 15 at 10:00 am in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. In lieu of flowers family requests any donations to be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, and Concordia Hospice of Washington, who were fantastic, and the family greatly appreciated the loving care they gave to their Mom.
