Mary Rebecca Marasco. 96, of Washington, died on February 15, 2023, in Woodside Place, Washington. She was born on March 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Angeline Maria Marasco. A 1944 graduate of Washington High School, she was a member of Friendship Community Church, and also attended Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church. For forty-one years, Mary worked for Bell Telephone, where she was recognized as the “sweet voice operator.” Mary sang in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher, played the piano for Sunday services, belonged to a ladies prayer group, Channels of Joy, was the church librarian, and was a member of the Bell Telephone Ten-Year Club. Ms. Marasco was well known for her generosity, cheerful nature, and positive attitude. Her cooking and baking skills were impressive, and enjoyed by all. She adored, and was close to her entire family, including all her beloved nieces and nephews, and loved filling them with all the goodness and sweetness that her cookies brought. One thing is for sure though, she never missed her morning cup of coffee. A devout Christian, Mary never faltered in her love of the Lord. Surviving are a brother, Pastor Floyd C.
