Mary Margaret Corbett, 73, of Washington, died December 13, 2021, in Washington Hospital. She was born September 9, 1948, in Washington, the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Margaret Golna Yater. She graduated from Killingly High School, in Connecticut, and worked many years as an operator for Bell Telephone of PA. Mary sold Tupperware, Jafra Cosmetics, as well as other in-home sales companies. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church, as a eucharist minister, a lector, and involved with Christian Mothers. Mary is survived by her son James J. Corbett, IV (Jennifer Jennings) of Washington; brothers, Bill Yater, of Monongahela, Joe Yater, of Graysville, Mike Yater (Sherry), of Eighty-Four, and Robert Yater (Dawn), of Moosup, CT; sisters, Betty Tavernier (Butch), of Moosup, CT, Theresa Lariviere (Marc), of Washington, and Linda Molinaro, of Washington; grandchildren, Nancy Hackney (Kyle), Jerica Allison (Preston), Parker Jennings, and Carter Jennings, all of Washington; great-grandchildren, Keagen, Karson, Karis, and Kennedi Hackney, Colt and Camilla Allison, and Shyann and Joey Yater; nephew, Joseph Yater (Bobbi Jo); and her long-time companion, Elmer Swalin. Preceding Mary in death was her sister, Debbie Hopkins and grandson, Tyler Roy. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the rosary will be read by the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters at 3:30 pm where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, at 10 am, with Father John Lynam officiating.
