Mary Jones Carter, 80, of Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in her home. She was born March 20, 1944, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ben Dewey Jones and Delphia Mahan Jones. Mary was employed by North Electric as a screen printer. She was Christian by faith. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, especially her roses, canning and cooking. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her loved ones. On December 31, 1977, she married Thomas Morgan Carter Jr., who passed away May 28, 2022. Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Glenna) Morgan Carter Jr. and Scott (Melissa) William Carter; two daughters, Diane (Gregory) Winkelman and Julie (Bernard) Marie Christensen; two brothers, Dewey (Nadine) Jones and Bennie (Kim) Jones; four sisters, Edna Fuson, Critty (Elmer) Hall, Bernette (Terry) Brock and Bessie (Sharon Brinson) Jones; grandchildren Joshua, Christopher, Erin, Hannah, Madison, Savannah, Emily, Amy, Danielle, Keith, Eric, Matthew and Lauren; and great-grandchildren Bryson, Blaze, Brayden, Declan, Mila and Oliver. Deceased are a brother, Julious Jones, and a brother-in-law, June Fuson. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, Pennsylvania, with Pastor Tom McKee officiating. Entombment will be in Woodruff Memorial Park, Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 444 Liberty Ave #1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
