Martha J. Kirschner, 86, of Washington, died November 27, 2023, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington. She was born March 26, 1937, in Washington, the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Mae Martin. A graduate of Washington High school, she was a homemaker and a nanny for many years for local families. Martha was a member of First Baptist Church, where she was a deacon. She was very involved with South Strabane Fire Department Auxiliary, and a member of Eastern Star, Chartiers Chapter 97. On November 10, 1955, Martha married Paul Joseph “Joe” Kirschner, Sr., who died September 27, 2009. Martha is survived by her sons, Mark Kirschner (Donna), Paul J. Kirschner (the late Christine), and Eric “Butch” Kirschner (Dawn); daughter, Pamela Forte (Gino); grandchildren, Brett Kirschner, Shane Kirschner (Brandee Parent), Anthony J. Forte (Carli Obeldobel), Leyna Forte, Cole Kirschner (fiancé, Rachel Hrutkay), and Camryn Falvo (A.J.); sister, Elma Lerby (Bert); and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur Martin, Jr., Elizabeth Gray, and Alma Sim. Family and friends will be received Monday, December 4, 2023, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, with an additional visitation Tuesday, December 5th, 10-11 am followed by a service at 11 am with Pastor Steve Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.
