Marjorie Dolores Baker Fischer, 97, of Washington, passed away July 8, 2021, in Strabane Trails. She was born on Sunday, October 7, 1923, in Amity, the daughter of Charles Hamilton Baker and Edith Wiley Baker. Mrs. Fischer was educated at Trinity High School, class of 1940, and Penn Commercial College. She retired after many years of employment with Chambers Insurance Agency of Washington. She studied piano with Margaret A. Lewis and Addison Jones, both of Washington, and taught piano privately for many years. On June 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to Frank Albert Fischer of Pittsburgh. She served as organist/choir director of the Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, Prosperity, during her husband’s pastorate there. She is survived by three children, Lynn B. Fischer of Washington, Mark H. Fischer of New York, and Brett W. Fischer (Kathleen J.) of Washington; and one granddaughter, Danielle E. Fischer. Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are three brothers, Jack H. Baker, formerly of Waynesburg, Richard Y. Baker of Washington, and Robert F. Baker, who was killed on Cebu Island, Philippines, during World War II. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services.
