Marian L. Mcgary

Marian L. McGary, 89, of Claysville, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Donnell House, Washington.She was born May 10, 1928, in Cameron, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ross Jeffers and Ina Hoffman Jeffers.Mrs. McGary graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School and was an assistant manager at the Hallmark Store in Franklin Mall, retiring in 1996.She was a member of Lone Pine Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).Mrs. McGary was a "grand" lady and great mother who enjoyed family functions and playing cards with her sisters.On September 4, 1947, she married George H. McGary Sr., who died April 23, 2014.Surviving are a son, George H. (Judy) McGary Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Sharon L. (Jim) Hazen of Claysville and Melinda L. (Joe) Spino of Amity; three sisters, Inez Holvack of McGovern, Maureen Engle of McGovern and Dawn (Jeff) O'Brien of Washington; six grandchildren, Melissa (Joe) Depardo, George H. (Jen) McGary III, Hilary (John) Knestrick, Bethany Cole, Jessica Spino and Morgan Spino; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Deceased are her siblings, Roscoe Jeffers, Paul Jeffers and Sara Tomsic.A memorial gathering will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, November 25, in Lone Pine Christian Church, with Pastor John Owen officiating. Burial is private. Arrangements have been entrusted to William G.
