Margaret Oakman McWreath, 86, of Washington, passed away peacefully in her home on January 5, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 14, 1935, to the late Anna and Frank Oakman, she graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, and completed training as an H&R Block Tax Preparer. She had a long career at Sears, working in several different positions, and was the owner of McWreath Tax Service. Margaret was a member of the Church of the Covenant for over 60 years, where she taught Sunday school, served on several committees, and baked an estimated 50,000 holiday cookies for shut-ins over many years. She had a passion for travel and headed a travel club for 45 years that toured the country by bus, and traveled to local theatre and festival events. Margaret was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, and was usually found watching them in full team gear. Margaret’s interests and activities were many and varied, which included reading, card club, game nights, socialites, retirees’ gatherings, church breakfasts, and the theater. She enjoyed spending time in her gardens, and dressing up the house from top to bottom for Christmas. Family was most important to Margaret, she loved family gatherings and rarely missed celebrating the birthdays and performances of her grandchildren in person. It was a joy for her to be around family and she took every opportunity to spend time with them. Margaret maintained a very active and full life all the way to the end. Margaret is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth Mac, Barbara Riser (Roger), Laura Graff, and Jani Denison (Garrett); six grandchildren, Erica Lytton (Matt), Amanda Scholato (Kirk Rogozinski), Ethan Kreloff, Joshua Denison (Morgan Sweeney), Calyx Kreloff, and Allison Denison (Wyatt Privette); five great-grandchildren, Evan Scholato, Aiden Corrick, Chelsey Corrick, Lorenzo Lytton, Lexi Lytton, two sisters Marjene Horan, and Marie Capenos (Ed); several nieces and nephews; and several grandpets. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Martha Kebart; brother-in-law Tom Horan; son-in-law Van Graff; and grandson-in-law Claude Corrick. Friends will be received on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Rev.
