Marcia Joetta Chambers, 77, of Washington, died June 1, 2022, in Corolla, North Carolina. She was born January 6, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph Franklin and Eva Newell Phillips. Marcia attended Washington High School and worked as a CNA at Washington Hospital for 30 years. Marcia loved to feed the birds every morning. She enjoyed dancing, especially the jitterbug, was an avid Penguins fan and loved to travel. She loved her family and spending time with her sons, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her GG. She had a puppy, Rogue E. Bear, that she loved very much. She was a member of the Moose Lodge 22, and the VFW Post 927, in Washington. Mrs. Chambers was the wife of Donald Chambers, who passed in 1997. Surviving are sons, Randy (Phyllis) Chambers, and Don (Chantel) Chambers; a brother, Earl (Linda) Phillips; a sister, Marie Phillips Allen; grandchildren, Schenley (Ashton), Brittnie (Ryan), Ashley (Cory), and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Liliahna, Layla, and Esme; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Marcia was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dick” Phillips and sisters, Jackie Phillips Milligan, and Janet Phillips Sliman. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, June 8, 2022, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held Thursday, June 9th, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be sent to Pet Search, P.O.
