Lorraine Ann Martin, 70, peacefully passed away on November 13th in the presence of family. Lori was born on February 5th, 1953, to Robert and Lorain Martin, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Lori grew up with her sister, Linda, and many cousins. She graduated from Uniontown High School and went on to continue her education at California State College. There she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a substitute teacher at Bentworth School District, Residential Supervisor at United Cerebral Palsy and Supervisor at Washington Communities. In addition, she also dedicated several years of service volunteering at the Washington City Mayor’s Commission for People with Disabilities. She was a member of Friendship Community Church in Washington, PA. Lori enjoyed searching for, and collecting, antiques and sports memorabilia. She loved collecting so much that she and her best friend Wanda opened up their own business, Sister’s Junque Shop. Lori was an avid Steelers fan which made it easy to know where she would be on a Sunday afternoon during football season. For those who knew Lori, they knew her greatest hobby was loving and caring for her entire family. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lorain Martin, and her brother-in-law Ron Matthews. She is survived by her sister Linda (Sulo) Alto. Her nieces and nephew Sherry (John, deceased) DeBerardinis, Ron (KaRene) Matthews, and Shelby (Al) Carson. Her great nephews and nieces Kevin (Heather) McIlvaine, Kelly McIlvaine, Olivia (Brandon) Ford, Alyssa Matthews, Ronnie Matthews, Natalie Carson, and McKenzie Carson. Her great-great nephews and nieces who were her pride and joy Ryan, Jay, Bailey, Sawyer, Piper and Riley. She will also be missed by her best friend of 30+ years Wanda Muoio. The family would like to send their appreciation to the staff at the Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House for their service and care. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to the Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301. Family and friends will be received Monday, November 20, 2023, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA. Also the place of service Tuesday, November 21st at 1 pm, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Interment will follow in the Scenery Hill Cemetery.
