Lois J. Smith, 91, of Washington, died July 5, 2021, in Strabane Woods Assisted Living. She was born April 15, 1930, in Washington, the youngest child of William and Eleanor Hutson Lyons. Mrs. Smith worked at Hazel Atlas #2 and retired from Metro Glass. She enjoyed baking, camping, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. Mrs. Smith was a member of Friendship Community Church. On April 8, 1950, she married Fred W. “Pap” Smith, Sr., who died April 23, 2014. Surviving are two sons, Fred W. Smith, Jr., and wife Barbara Schumacher of Washington, and Jeff Smith and wife Cindy Smith of Washington; grandchildren, Melissa Jeziorski (Leon) of Canonsburg, Heather Smith (David Chang) of Herndon, Virginia, Christopher Smith (Kara) of Overland Park, Kansas, and Amy Dille (Jason) of Houston; great-grandchildren, Olivia Burt, Liam Jeziorski, Wyatt, Landon, Gunnar and Summerlea Smith, and Hunter and Henry Dille; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Mary Jean Moore of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. Deceased are her siblings, Dorothy Anderson, Elaine “Lee” Pettit, Margaret “Peggy” Savadeck, and Albert Lyons. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 12th, with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington City Mission, 84 West Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301.
