Linda F. Whitmer, 75, of Ephrata, formerly of Prosperity, went to be with her Lord Sunday, April 8, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones, and her little faithful companion, Max, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 2, 1942, in Poland Mines, a daughter of the late Richard and Leona Fowler Randolph. Mrs. Whitmer graduated from Carmichaels High School. A homemaker, she had her own craft business and was former owner and operator of The Lunchroom in Prosperity. She enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening and attending yard sales and flea markets. In addition, she enjoyed building, repairing, servicing and supporting personal computers. Mrs. Whitmer was a member of Reamstown Church of God, Stevens. On November 30, 1963, she married James Albert Whitmer, who died February 10, 2017. Surviving are a son, James (Cathy) Whitmer of Waynesburg; two daughters, Lila Zelensky of Prosperity and Julie (Bill) Fullum of Ephrata; a sister, Lillia Lewandowski of Ephrata; seven grandchildren, Dylan Kirby, Richard Fullum, Brandee Zelensky, Jessica Whitmer, Emily Whitmer, Jolynn Zelensky and Anthony Zelensky; a great-grandchild, Noah Kirby; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Deceased are a son, Richard Whitmer; and a brother, Robert Randolph. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, with Pastor Gary Whipkey officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
