Leona Breese McCormick, 92, of Washington, died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Woodside Place. She was born September 21, 1928 in Greene County, the daughter of the late Ross and Icy Price Breese. Leona was a 1947 graduate of Waynesburg High School and Penn Commercial Business School with an associate degree. Her past employment included Farm Credit Bureau, Allison’s Bakery, Singer Sewing Machine and J.C. Penney Co. She loved gardening, baking, crochet, and sewing. She was a member of Lagonda Homemakers, Concord Presbyterian Church, and attended Union Valley Methodist and Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church. On October 21, 1947, she married Harold Wray McCormick, who passed away on September 6, 2007. Surviving are sons; Harold Duane (Marilyn) McCormick of Washington and Ronald “Mac” McCormick of Triadelphia, WV; daughter, Reca Panian of Washington; grandchildren, Diana (John) McCosby, Kari McCormick, Jason White, Eli White, Heather McCormick, and Joel Panian; great-grandchildren, Kelly, Kevin and Shane McCosby and Noah Crow, as well as many nieces and nephews. Leona is predeceased by brother, Charles Duane “Corky” Breese and sister, Imogene Huffman. Services will be held at Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3905 Park Avenue, Prosperity, Thursday, December 10 at 10:30 a.m. with a maximum of 60 in attendance, face masks are required.
