Leona Butterfield, 81, of Taylorstown, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in The Washington Hospital. She was born June 6, 1939, in Elm Grove, West Virginia, a daughter of Lloyd Bowland and Helen Crupe Bowland. Mrs. Butterfield graduated from Wheeling (WV) High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, eating out, spending time with her family, and cooking for her family. Mrs. Butterfield was a member of Taylorstown Christian Church and a 40-year member of the auxiliary of American Legion 907 in Taylorstown. On December 22, 1962, she married Jack Butterfield, who died November 18, 2020. They were married for 57 years. Surviving are a daughter, Kendel Butterfield of Taylorstown; two sons, Jeff (Tracy) Butterfield of West Alexander and Jay (Debbie) Butterfield of Taylorstown; a sister, Mary (Ron) Wyne of Willoughby, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Chase Butterfield, Emily Butterfield, Zachary Smith, Taylor Smith, Abbey Butterfield, Jacob Butterfield, Jenna Butterfield, Margaret “Maggie” Butterfield, and Jeremiah Butterfield; two great-grandchildren, Rory Butterfield and Tristan Butterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are siblings, Louise Pechar, Geneva “Sis” Slater, Doris Richmond, Laura Patterson, and George Bowland.
