Lawrence "Larry" F. Kelley

Lawrence F. “Larry” Kelley, 69, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. His death was not Covid-19 related. He was born in New Castle on May 21, 1951, the son of the late Merle and Mildred Steinard Kelley. Mr. Kelley was a 1969 graduate of Neshannock High School in New Castle. On December 7, 1996, Larry married the love of his life, Ann Durbin Kelley, who survives. He was a lineman and serviceman for West Penn Power Company, from which he retired after 38 years of service. He was Past President of the Utility Workers Union of America, Local 102H. After his retirement from West Penn Power, Larry worked for the Utility Workers Union of America, AFL/CIO, as a union organizer. “Proud to be union, Representative for the worker.” He enjoyed his work. Larry also worked as a Security officer at the Meadows from 1974-1989. He retired from UWUA AFL/CIO on October 1, 2018 to relax and spend time with his family and friends. He was a Mason of the Chartiers Lodge 297 of Canonsburg. Larry loved fishing and traveling, his cars, and especially his little cat, Gracie. Surviving in addition to his wife, are 2 stepsons, David W. (Denise) Lucas II, of Mooresville, NC, and Michael R. (Autumn) Lucas of Washington. He was very proud of his boys. Also surviving is his daughter Allison Kelley Hillberry, of Avella; brothers Gary (Linda) Kelley of New Castle, James (Blanche) Kelley of New Castle, Robert (Paula) Kelley of Wooster, OH, William (Mary) Kelley of Decatur, AL, grandchildren Ashley Lucas, Kelli Lucas, Jonathan Lucas, Madison Lucas and Jeg Lucas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Kelley. At the request of the deceased, all services are private. Memorial donations may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O.
