Laura A. Wickline

August 9, 1956 — May 24, 2022

Laura A. Wickline, 65, of Washington, died on May 24, 2022, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born on August 9, 1956, in Washington, a daughter of the late John Robert and Evelyn DiFebo Wickline. A 1974 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, Laura attended Penn State University and California University of Pennsylvania. Laura worked at Sam’s Club, which was the perfect environment, where she had the opportunity to meet and chat with so many people. In fact, she was quite famous, being known as the “self-checkout lady”. If you have been in Sam’s Club, you certainly will remember her fondly. She retired following eighteen years of spreading joy there. Ms. Wickline adored Bassett Hounds and rescued several lucky Bassetts, although she would probably tell you that she was the lucky one. She enjoyed science fiction, especially Godzilla, and going to Disney World. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her nieces and nephews, whom she loved like they were her own. They all loved and will dearly miss her. Laura’s loss will leave a void in the lives of her family and the many people whose lives she touched. During her stay at Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Laura received wonderful care from all the staff, but especially the nursing staff, Kristen, Shelly, Samantha and Patty. Her family sends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make her time there more comfortable. Surviving are two sisters, Linda C. (the late Donald) Chaney, of Washington, Sandy L. (Henry) Likar, of Washington; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Paul) Richardson, Stacy (Becky) Laurie, and Leslie (Matt) Marsula; and great nieces and nephews, Caroline, Ella, Emma, Benny, Luke, Evelyn, and Eloise. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Friday, June 10, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Droopy Bassett Hound Rescue of Western Pennsylvania, 15581 Stewart Hill Rd., Union City, PA 16438.
