Laura “Jean” Horn, 79, of Cokeburg, passed away peacefully, December 31, 2022, in Washington Hospital, with her family at her bedside. Jean was born December 31, 1943, in Washington, the daughter of the late James Kilgore and Laura Kilgore Mossberg and attended Trinity High School. On November 15, 1960, Jean married William Horn, who survives. Together they had four children, James Horn (deceased,) Jamie Horn of Cokeburg, Billie Jo Horn, of Wheeling, and Ronald Horn, of Washington; six grandchildren, Travis (Kristin) Horn, of Cokeburg, Autumn Kita, of Pittsburgh, James Horn, of Washington, Heather Horn, of Washington, Jennifer (Chad) Chervenick, of Flagstaff, AZ, and Austin Leech, of Tallahassee, FL; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a former daughter-in-law, Kim Hughes; and two sisters, Judi Hart, and Linda (Ed) Brazier. Jean was a CNA for many years, she truly enjoyed taking care of people. Later in her career she did private duty, taking care of people until she could no longer do it. Jean enjoyed shopping, gambling, and just being out with her best friends, her sisters. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her dog, Snoopy. Jean loved her family and getting everyone together for the holidays, where she would always cook entirely too much food. Jean was preceded in death by her oldest son, James, a grandson, Joshua R. Lowery, and her sister, Diane Marconi. There will be a private graveside service for the family.
