Kenneth L. “Ken” Henderson, 91, formerly from Washington, died January 19, 2022, in the Robert A. Barnes Center, in Ohio. He was born August 1, 1930, in Washington, the son of the late Clarence W. and Vivian Maddox Henderson. Ken attended Washington High School. He was drafted into the Navy in 1952 and served until honorable discharge in 1956. He was assigned to the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43). As an electrician’s mate, he was placed on sea duty and cruised to Naples, Italy and throughout the Mediterranean. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Navy Occupation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. On June 23, 1958, Ken married Dorothy L. Culbertson, who died July 31, 2010. They were happily married for 52 years. His sister Audrey introduced them at a dance. Ken worked for B&O Railroad and retired from Washington Steel after 30 years as a mill oiler. He is survived by his three sons, Keith (Nancy) Henderson, of Canonsburg, Kurt (Stephanie) Henderson, of Westerville, OH, and Kevin (Nancy) Henderson, of Alexandria, OH; sister, Nancy Grandon; grandchildren, Rachel Henderson, Bethany (Brandon) Stovich, Breanna (Chris) Hyme, and Katlyn Henderson. In addition to his wife, Ken was predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Plants, and Kathleen Alderson. A family memorial service will be planned in the spring and will be announced at a later date. All services were private and held at the convenience of the family.
