Kenneth “Spike” Hatfield, 90 of Washington, died Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the Washington Hospital. He was born December 17, 1928, in Amity, the son of the late Fred Hatfield and Alice Thomas Hatfield. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during World War II. He received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He worked at Hazel Atlas #1 and Brockway Glass for 32 years. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes and cards and spending time with family and friends. He loved his cats. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church. On October 2, 1954, he married Wilma Gooding, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Bob (Crystal) Hatfield, Mark (Amy) Hatfield, Fred (Missy) Hatfield and Keith (Shannon) Hatfield all of Washington; three daughters, Marie (James) Lucas of Avella, Elaine (Dee) Moore of Washington and Lori (Thomas) Keating of Burgettstown; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Lloyd Hatfield. Friends will be received Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 9 a.m. with Pastor Dave Decker officiating. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
