Karen I. Thompson, 79, of Washington, died on June 9, 2023, in Washington Hospital. She was born on April 30, 1944, in Washington, a daughter of the late Andrew Carnegie and Marian Carroll Iseman. A graduate of Washington High School, she was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. Karen was a loving and devoted wife and mother, who dedicated her time to caring for her children. She loved spending time with her daughter’s cat, “Shy,” and going to Jeep events with the SWPA Jeep Brigade. Karen also enjoyed sewing, crafting, making blankets and sewing beautiful flags. On June 10, 1968, she married the love of her life, G. Robert “Bob” Thompson, who died on March 24, 2019. Surviving are a daughter, Raeleen Thompson, of Washington; and nieces and nephews, Dana Rothermund, Wendy Rothermund, Brian (Kelly) Rothermund, Shawn Rothermund, Joel (Molly) Hott, Lisa (James) Baraona, and Kim (Keith) Habusta. Deceased are two sisters, Diane Rothermund and Andrea Cagnon. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Garden Mausoleum
