June M. Murphy, 91, of Washington, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 8, 2024, in Canonsburg Hospital. She was born June 23, 1932, in Imperial, a daughter of the late Foldy Joseph Morflak and Sophie Durish Morflak. Mrs. Murphy worked at RCA prior to working at Giant Eagle, retiring after 25 years. She enjoyed serving others and was a very nurturing, warm, and welcoming person who always wanted to make everyone feel like they mattered. She enjoyed being surrounded by family, especially her children and granchildren. Full of life, Mrs. Murphy was always very active and sociable. She loved dancing, especially line dances and polkas. She also loved to travel and enjoyed the winters she spent with her husband in Palm Bay, Florida. Her hobbies included solving crossword puzzles, playing scrabble and Chinese checkers, as well as playing cards. She also enjoyed flowers, especially roses. Mrs. Murphy attended Washington Alliance Church. On September 3, 1954, she married James Keightly Murphy, who died June 22, 2022. Surviving are two sons, James K. Murphy, Jr. (Sue) and Jeffrey K. Murphy (Jackie), both of Washington; two daughters, Jani K. Hamm (Doug) of Evansville, Indiana and June K. Flint (Eric) of Meadowlands; a brother, Richard Morflak (Patricia) of Houston; a sister, Judy Scouloukas (the late John) of Independence, Ohio; a sister-in-law Charlotte Allen (Bill) of Washington; nine grandchildren, Ben Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Rachel Berreth (Andy), Jenna DeRienzo (David), Jordan Marry (Angelica), Justine Flint (Brian Smith), Austin Flint (Chelsa), Matthew Murphy, and Nathan Murphy; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Dolores Ann Accetturo. All services were private. Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., Washington.
