Julia Duvall Comstock, 93, of Washington, died Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born August 9, 1924, in Lone Pine, a daughter of the late Russell and Ella Closser Duvall. Mrs. Comstock attended Lone Pine Grade School and graduated from Trinity High School in 1942. Following graduation, she worked in the local defense plant making hand grenades. She then attended Washington Seminary Junior College. Mrs. Comstock worked in the purchasing department of The Washington Hospital, retiring after 24 years of service. It was a job she enjoyed and was very proud to have held. After retiring, she enjoyed daily trips to the local coffee shop with her husband. Mrs. Comstock was a member of Laboratory Presbyterian Church, where she served on the nominating committee and attended Wednesday morning Bible study, and was a former member of Washington Senior Citizens Center. On December 4, 1945, in Washington, she married Charles R. Comstock, who died October 21, 2012. Surviving are three children, Charles Comstock of Eighty Four, Susan Beathe of Buckhannon, West Virginia, and Michael Comstock of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Mark Beathe, Steven Beathe, Kaitlin Comstock and Sarah Ostrelich. Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a brother, Marion “Buck” Duvall; sisters, Betty DeFurio, Dorothy Auld and Margaret Berry; and a cousin, Katherine Onopiuk, who was like a sister to her. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 6.
