Joyce Ellen Skoczylas

Joyce Pendergast Skoczylas, 72, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2023, at the Washington Hospital. She was born June 7, 1951, in Washington, to John E. and Emma Jane Pendergast. Joyce was a 1969 graduate of Trinity Area High School and worked in the hospitality industry, most recently at the Washington County Health Center. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasure. Joyce loved being a homemaker and enjoyed sharing her cooking talents with her friends and family. On September 19, 1992, she married Terry Skoczylas of Washington, who survives. Additionally, she is survived by two sons: Corry Mays (Gina) of Washington, and Patrick Skoczylas (Gena) of Florida. Her three sisters: Claire Roach (Bill), Wendy Pendergast, and Brenda Cage all of Washington; three brothers, John W. (Karrie) of Washington, Jan (Cindy) of Brockton MA, and Brian (Maureen) of Seymour TN. Joyce is also survived by six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband Steve Mays.
