Joseph Angelo Yanniello

Joseph Angelo “Joe” Yanniello, 73, of Washington passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in his home. He was born on February 17, 1951 in Washington, a son of the late Charles Gerard and Ruth Daniels Yanniello. Joe was a graduate of Trinity High School. He proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1968 until 1971, where he earned several medals for his brave service in Vietnam. Joe went on to devote over 30 years to Jessop Steel, retiring in 2005. A sports fan, Joe was especially fond of football and boxing. He also enjoyed taking spontaneous vacations and visits to the casino. Family and friends were most important to Joe, he loved spending time with all of them, including his three cats, Katie, Middy, and Rachel. Joe is survived by his two children, Joseph Yanniello, Jr. and Melissa (Dean) Zinn; a brother, Samuel Carpenter; two grandchildren, Ashlee and Jessie; four great grandchildren, Maddy, Jonavan, Haley, and Aubree; his beloved companion of 36 years, Diana Bumgardner; and close friends, Rick and Judy Clemens. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette Belcastro Yanniello; and four siblings, Charles, Mickey, David, and Nina. Family and friends are welcome from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 175 Honor Guard. Private interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
