Joseph B. Koval, 76 of Washington, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home. He was born September 28, 1941 in North Charleroi, the son of the late Joseph Koval and Dorothy Acton Sheehan Koval. Joseph was a 1959 graduate of Monessen High School and graduated from Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He was U.S. military veteran of both Air Force and Army Special Forces 101st Airborne Division, Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV. He had over 100 jumps while in the military. Joe retired from Washington Redevelopment Authority and began Joseph B. Koval Real Estate in 1972 in Washington County. He was a board-certified State Appraiser for commercial and industrial farm and residential. He enjoyed boating, traveling, and spending time with his family and dog, Ryder. Surviving are a son, Christopher Koval of Washington; two daughters, Vicky (Cary David) Posey of Wheeling, WV and Carrie (Jeremy) Richter of Washington; a granddaughter, Ava Lynn Richter of Washington; a sister Patricia Sheehan Brock of Casa Grande, AZ; a nephew, Jason Raymond Sheehan of Meriden, CT; great nieces and nephews, Jameson Timothy Sheehan, Bernadette Elizabeth Sheehan and Dorothy Marie Sheehan. Friends will be received Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. the time of service with J. J. Roller officiating.
