Joie E. Morris

Joie E. Morris, 85, of Washington, died July 10, 2022, in the Donnell House. She was born December 25, 1936, in Claysville, the daughter of the late John D. Grantz, Sr. and M. Evaughn Nicholls Grantz. Joie worked as a waitress in several local restaurants over the years. She was a member of Christian Church of North America and really enjoyed spending time with her church family. She loved being with friends and family. Joie loved playing checkers with her 5-year-old great-great niece. She generously donated to several charities. On April 6, 1959, Joie married William E. Morris, who died November 17, 2004. Surviving is one brother, Milton “Whitey” Grantz (Jackie), and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Joie was preceded in death by her brothers, John D. Jr., William Grantz, Wray Grantz, Robert Grantz; and sisters, Betty Jean Plants, Eleanor Ardeno, and Margaret Ianni. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church; CCNA, 605 Shirls Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. Friends and family will be received Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service Thursday, July 14th, at 10:00 am, with Pastor Rob Burke officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.
